What to Expect

When are worship services?

Divine Service is held every Sunday at 9:30am and every Wednesday at 6pm. Special services are held at different times of the year. Details may be found on the Calendar or from Church Newsletter.

How long is service?

Sunday and Wednesday services will last roughly an hour. Time for fellowship is encouraged prior to service with coffee and treats offered every week between bible study and service (9-9:30am).

Where is the Church located? (Where do I park?)

St Paul is located at 2126 N Sherman Ave. We are south of Warner park along N Sherman Ave. We reside on the North-east side of Madison.

We have three parking lots on the North, West, and South sides of our building. We have three entrances that are easily accessible from the parking lots.

What type of worship does St. Paul offer?

St Paul follows a traditional liturgy as found in the Lutheran Service Book. The order of service is printed to make it easier for everyone to follow along. The liturgy is a "call and response" with the congregation regularly involved in reading sentences as printed in the bulletin. Service involves readings from Scripture, a sermon from the pastor based on the readings, hymns (songs) led by piano, and the celebration of the Lord's Supper. Check out our YouTube page to see previous services and sermons.

What should I wear?

Typical attire leans towards casual though ranges from jeans and a nice shirt to dresses or casual suits. All are welcome to come as they are in whatever you feel most comfortable and presentable.

Are children welcome in the sanctuary?

Yes! We think it is important that children grow up attending the Divine Service and are with you to hear the preaching of the Word. We know kids can at times be noisy, but we rejoice that their voices mean the church is alive and well! God desires to hear them too!

Is the church handicap accessible?

Yes! St. Paul is ADA compliant with the main entrance at the same level as the sanctuary. A handicap lift is also available for those who enter from the North or West parking lots. Service animals are always welcome. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to accommodate your specific needs.
